Dunwich

 

Known as the lost city of England, this tiny village certainly has a story to tell. Dating back to Anglo-Saxon times, Dunwich once stood proud as the capital of the Kingdom of the Eastern Angles

Find peace and quiet at Dunwich Heath & Beach, looked after by the National Trust, home to some rare species.

- Wander around within the 9 kilometres of beautiful Dunwich forests.

- Visit St James Church a classic Suffolk Style and home to some relics of medieval times. 

- The museum is a great place to stop off and find out some facts, also you can grab a - Dunwich historic trail map to then take a walk around the cliffs.

- Greyfriars Monastery is a historical landmark, a Franciscan friary founded before 1277.  The remains are classified as a Grade II listed building and most of the site as a scheduled monument.
